AMATEUR CATEGORY: Four (4) Twenty-Five Dollar ($25) prizes will be awarded for this category.
COMPETITIVE CATEGORY: A minimum of three (3) one hundred and fifty dollar ($150) prizes will be awarded in this category. More may be awarded based on the number of entries.
AWARDS & EXHIBIT: Photos will be on display May 11th at Mainstreet Piqua's Taste of the Arts event in the Schmidlapp Library 509 N. Main St. from 5p to 9p. Awards will be announced at 8p. Winners need not be present to win.
Entry Fee: $0 Per Photograph
Presentation: Must provide a 5x7 inch image matted to 8x10 inches with a white or black top mat. Matting must include a windowed top mat and a backing board (mat board or foam core). Piqua Arts Council will have matting materials (precut) available for sale at their office for $5 for each photo.
Photo Release: All photos entered in the amateur category will release the rights to the photo for advertising purposes by Mainstreet Piqua, Grow Piqua Now, City of Piqua and Piqua Arts Council.
My Favorite Place Piqua Photography Competition will have 2 Categories, Amateur and Competitive. The Rules will vary according to the category entered. For both categories, photos taken on any device will be accepted (cell phone photos are welcome). This competition is about promoting Piqua , and as such, photo winners will have an emphasis on being able to be used in promotion of Piqua. Photographers will only be allowed to enter one category, but there are no restrictions on which category they choose.
Entry Fee: $10 Per Photograph
Presentation: Must provide a 11x14 inch image matted to 16x20 inches with a white or black top mat. Photos in this category should be framed and under glass (plexiglass is okay) with a wire hanger. Absolutely NO SAWTOOTH hangers will be accepted.
Photo Release: In this category, only the award winners will release the rights to the photo for advertising purposes by Mainstreet Piqua, Grow Piqua Now, City of Piqua and Piqua Arts Council.
All submissions for this competition must be submitted through the online form. Payment for entry fees (if there are any), can be made when the artwork is dropped off. Artwork MUST be delivered to Piqua Arts Council 427 N. Main St. or Mainstreet Piqua 326 N. Main St. by 4pm on Friday, May 4th.
